Trash Curbside Collection Information

All garbage will be collected (as early as 6 a.m.) on Monday mornings at your curb-side. In addition, there will be a collection every other week for recyclable items. The Community Calendar has the actual pickup schedule.

A clearly marked recycling container must be placed beside your regular garbage cans every other Monday and a separate recycling truck will collect these materials. Please do not take trash cans to the curb before Sunday evening and bring in your trash cans as soon as possible on Monday. Curb-side collection and recycling will be paid by the Borough, making Ben Avon Heights the only community in the area which does NOT charge their residents for trash and recycling collection.

Trash - Backyard Collection Information

Under this alternative, each resident has the option to have backyard collection at their own expense. The annual charge for back yard service will be $168.00 per household for 2019. If you wish to take advantage of this option, please complete the Back Yard Request Form below and return it by January 5, 2019 with your $168.00 check payable to Ben Avon Heights Borough. If you are new to this program, we will need a description regrading the location of your cans.

Please note, under this option, the cans will not be placed back where they were found, they will be left at the curb as always.

Trash - Special Pick-up Items Information

Large household items such as televisions, e-waste, washers, refrigerators and the like require special pick-up arrangements. Individual homeowners need to schedule and pay for this type of special disposal service directly. Please contact Valley Waste Service for details.
